Choose an excerpt that stands on its own
A good suggestion contains an identifiable idea. Listen to the opening: are the people, topic and pronouns clear without the preceding minutes? Then check that the conclusion adds something meaningful.
A short answer may need the question before it. A longer exchange, on the other hand, can be tightened. The goal is to make people want to hear more without changing what the guest meant.
Adapt a conversation to vertical video
Adjust cuts, 9:16 framing and captions in the editor. For a source with several speakers, check the shots and choose a layout that keeps the right person visible. Framing modes let you work with a single subject or a stacked composition.
Review proper names and podcast-specific terms. Also check readability on a small screen: captions should not cover the face of the person answering.
Review before preparing publication
Watch the entire short and check the title, opening, ending and retained context. Every episode is different: the number of useful clips depends on its content.
